What is Voice Controlled Autonomous Vehicle?

  • Autonomous vehicle is defined as a vehicle that is able to operate itself and perform necessary functions without any human involvement and has the ability to sense its surroundings.
  • IoT-based Voice Controlled Autonomous Vehicle is a robot vehicle that can be controlled by giving voice commands/instructions using smartphones and the Internet and can also detect objects when its traveling.
  • The robot vehicle receives the voice commands/instructions via the Google assistant of the smartphone.
  • The object detection is done with the help of an ultrasonic sensor which senses the presence of an object and sends signals to the vehicle.

  • Roads filled with automated vehicles could also cooperate to smooth traffic flow and reduce traffic congestion.
  • Excess hike in fuel prices and burning of the fuels which releases various poisonous gases into the atmosphere.
  • The vehicles present in today’s times are not up to the quality and if any error occurs in it, then it takes a lot of time and a huge amount of money for the vehicle which can be difficult sometimes.

Companies that deal in Autonomous vehicles:

  • TESLA: As their technology is one of the most modern and precise on the road, automobiles designed by them are only continuously becoming better. Tesla began commercializing Autopilot’s capabilities in its cars in 2015, and the contest to be the leading autonomous vehicle business quickly followed.

PONY.AI: It is a leading startup that offers some of the finest AI-based solutions for improving the self-driving automobile experience. Pony.ai intends to revolutionize the transportation sector by developing completely autonomous self-driving smart cars.

  • Apple: Apple said for the first time in 2016 that it is working on self-driving vehicles. It also stated that it will invest in machine learning and automation. Project Titan is the internal name for this project, which began in 2014.

Kia: It’s a Hyundai Motors subsidiary, plans to release a fully autonomous car by 2030. It is attempting to develop technologies that will be affordable to a large part of vehicle purchasers, namely the middle class of society, and is attempting to make such cars as cost-effective as possible.

Ford: They said in 2018 that it intends to have self-driving vehicles on the streets in operational status by 2021, and has been developing a testing facility in Miami for the past nine months.

Audi: It is owned by Volkswagen, launched a new autonomous driving division in 2017. Autonomous Intelligent Driving is the name of the new unit, and it operates throughout the Volkswagen brand. Audi announced a second-generation Q3 compact SUV in 2018, a bigger and more comfortable model with semi-autonomous operation capabilities.

As you can see in the below image the red led glows in the car, through which we know that the car is on and responds to the voice commands provided by the user.
