What is a Smart irrigation system?
A smart irrigation system is a system, it monitors Moisture levels in a crop or a garden’s soil. It controls and regulates the moisture level by pumping the water. It processes the data came from the various sensors installed across the field and uploads to the connected cloud. We can control the motor and see sensor data in the mobile app.
Advantages of smart irrigation system
The main advantage of the smart irrigation system is saving water, sensor data monitoring through mobile. we can control the water pumps through mobile apps. We can regulate water consumption by optimizing the data came from the sensors. And this system determines the irrigation need of the landscape. These systems maximize irrigation efficiency by reducing water waste and while maintaining health and quality.

There are various smart irrigation controllers. Smart irrigation controllers monitor weather, soil conditions, evaporation, and plant water use to automatically adjust the watering schedule to actual conditions of the site.

Project Aim:
Traditional watering methods can waste as 50% of the water used due to inefficiencies in irrigation, evaporation and over watering. Households with inadequate irrigation systems can waste up to 25,000 gallons (94,635 liters) of water annually. The increase in temperature will lead to elevated levels of evaporation and ultimately result in less water in our lakes and reservoirs in the years to come. And due to lack of awareness on agriculture technologies, farmers unable to produce sufficient production. In this project, we address this main issue. We aim to develop the irrigation system for home gardening and this system can be maintained without any human monitoring. It automatically checks the moisture of the soil under the tree and plants in the home garden and if the moisture is low it indicates the message and pours water automatically to the plants from the water storage to which it is connected. The exact utilization of the irrigation method is required as there may be a lack of rainfall or there may be dry areas. For this reason, an automated irrigation system is used in which it is suitable in all climatic conditions. We used smart irrigation system using NodeMCU ESP866 and Blynk.
